'US political system will disintegrate'
Commander of Iran's Basij Force Brigadier General Mohammad-Reza Naqdi
An Iranian commander says popular anti-Wall Street protests and those against US financial policies will lead to the disintegration of American political system.
“The movement of the American nation is deep-rooted and is a wave which due to its independence from US parties will cause the disintegration of the country's political system,” Commander of Iran's Basij Force Brigadier General Mohammad-Reza Naqdi told a group of students in Tehran Saturday, IRNA reported.
Stressing the “desperation and humiliation” of the US-led global arrogance before Iran, he added that the great wave of awakening we now witness in the world results from the will of “only one percent of its population” which decided not to succumb to oppression and despite all existing limitations implemented Islamic teachings.
Protests against the US financial system, bank bailouts, foreclosures and high unemployment broke out in New York in September 17 and have since spread to 847 cities across the country.
Anti-corruption activists have been trying to have their voice heard as they condemn the corrupt practices of Wall Street and the excessive influence of big corporations on the way the country is run.
